We’re in the process of packing up, and we see a splash in the water, a fish. It might have been, but if it was, it was beening chased by a couple of dolphins. The kids are excited for at least a few seconds, but a tree they’ve been climbing for the last few days keeps their attention.

After a lazy start to the morning, we all get organised, and take off to visit some of the sites of the National Park. We drive back to the start of the park to see Wanna Lookout, it’s blowing a gale, but it’s a great spot.

We drive into town, I drop the family off at the local park and drive over to the car service centre. The 40,000km is a big one and they say they’ll need the car for 5 hrs. Our Sydney friends are over in the national park, and it would have been good to camp with them overnight, but we’re not sure if that’s possible.

A beautiful morning, still windy, but not strong gusts. The tides out and the water is a lot calmer than the washing machine it was yesterday.
We take a morning walk out on the rocks.
Day 119 – Ceduna to Streaky Bay
Caitlin has a slightly better night, so we think the fever has basically broken, so we’ll head off today.
We have 400km over the next two days to do so we can be in Port Lincoln on Thursday afternoon. I’ve found a couple of campsites that look good. Our first world trouble is one is about 100km from Ceduna, the other is about 100km from Port Lincoln. So a either a bigger drive today or tomorrow.

Overnight Caitlin has come down with a high fever. Neurophen is keeping it under control but it is pretty high.
This morning her fever is still high, and she doesn’t feel well. We had planned on moving down the coast today, but there is no imperative. So we book in for another night.

Up again lateish, it’s overcast so it is the coolest we’ve been for ages. We start the final push east and we aim for Ceduna.
A quick stop at the SA quarantine station to donate some fruit and veg, then on into town (to buy the same fruit and veg back).

With the 2.5 hr time change, we officially wake up very late. What a great night’s sleep, even with the trucks not that far away it is so peaceful.

We all sleep in, and we really don’t get out of bed till 8. You can just hear the faint noise of the trucks as they pass. Can’t say I heard anything overnight. It’s been so quiet here.

A day I’ve been looking forward to for a while. Finally hitting the Nullarbor, although sad too as it kinda signals the beginning of the end of the trip.
We go out via Coolgardie, not as big as I was expecting, almost a ghost town really. Back down to Norseman and finally heading east. That’s 200km done.
