No early alarms today, and everyone has a good sleep in. It’s not quite as cold as the previous morning, well at least the thermometer has been in positive territory. There’s also been some rain overnight..

The alarms go off at 6am, Justine and I have both had a restless sleep, kinda always happens the first few days we’re away. With the diesel heater running all night, at least the van’s not freezing. Being first up, I go fill the jug for coffee and the water runs for a few secs and then stops… then I think about it, have the pipes frozen? I turn on the water pump from the tanks and that works, phew.

Early alarm, that’s going to happen a few times on this trip. We hit the road right on 7am. Given it’s the beginning of the school holidays it seemed prudent. Yesterday’s holiday traffic was bad.
Traffic was much better than I feared, and we stop for Breakie at Sutton Forrest then take the Canberra exit off the Hume.
