Another great night by the creek and some Turtle come to say hello as we packup.
The lockable canopy on George’s ute won’t unlock with the remote, and he’s not sure where the key is. After some faffing about he’s able to get the rear tray down and open it from the inside.

The wind continued all night, but it was still pretty comfortable and not too cold in the swag. I think we all had a better night’s sleep than in Birdsville.

A beautiful night sleep beside the creek and I wake up just as the sun is rising.
We packup, however this time, everything is covered in sand. Nick goes for a dip in the creek, he’s gamer than I am, it must be pretty cold.

Up at 7, the regular packup and get ready. I had some roof load problems yesterday. I didn’t really secure the empty Jerry to the roof too well, and it fell off. Self-inflicted, so a better job this morning.

Up at 6 and it’s really cold. We wanted to get away by 7:30 and end up driving out about 7:15, so that promising. We make our way up to Blinman, we pass dozens of Emus in the paddocks beside the road, a couple even cross in front of us.

Bit of an unusual post, not really a holiday, just a couple of days off. The family is at home and it’s just me taking a break after working a few recent weekends.
I finished the pharmacy move here in Orange last night, so I don’t need to head back in there this morning. There is a dam south of here that I want to go to, so I’m in not in any super rush to get going this morning. Speaking of morning, like yesterday is damn fresh, with close to 0° overnight.

I wake around 1. It seems calmer again, or is that maybe more the case that I’m getting used to it? Wake again at 3:30, we’re already inside the bay.
Up at 4:30 to beat the rush. After getting ready I go out on deck, expecting cold and windy, I get nether. It’s actually warm. Port Philip Bay is a millpond, I don’t recall ever seeing a body of water this big, this calm.
