Day 4 – Hervey Bay – Day 1

Relaxed Morning, the day is overcast and a little drizzly.    Dawn has all these possum boxes around the house and most of them are full.  One is pretty close to the deck and as the morning wears on we see a little face sticking out.   While they are nocturnal, that doesn’t stop us feeding some banana to the Possum this morning.  The banana has just come out of the fridge, so when she doesn’t come out straight away for a second helping we figure it might be brain freeze.    Eventually she pops up again, and this time Caitlin gets a turn.

Mark and I need to go into town to get a spare part for Dawn’s ride on Lawnmower.   I find out I’ve left an internal light on overnight and the car battery is flat.   I manage to get it jumpstarted off the 2nd battery in the car.  Once going we drive the 10 odd Kms to town.  It is so busy here, I’m not sure I’ve seen this much traffic in Hervey Bay before.  That and we need to wear masks outside makes the trip a little interesting.  Finally we get the part and then back.     Thanks to Mark the lawnmower is back and working again.  A little later in the day I try the car again, but it still won’t start.   Mmm,  the battery would be 5 years old so it must be on its way out.

Early afternoon, I ask the kids if they want to go for a swim.  I thought I might need to do a little more convincing, but they pretty much jump at the chance.  They don’t last in the water for ages. Liam gets out first, like usual, Caitlin hangs in there a bit longer.
