Day 5 – Hervey Bay – Day 2

Like yesterday a casual morning.  During the morning, I go to check if the car will start, nope!. I jumper it off the 2nd battery again and leave it running for a while.  With the scangauge I know it’s putting in close to 14v.  I give to about 40mins to charge.

We decide it is easier to try and do lunch than a family dinner and elect to go to the local RSL, With the 7 of us we need to take two cars.  Again the MUX won’t start and needs to be jumpered.   We arrive, have the extensive covid checkin and order our meals.  The kids spend some time in what appears to be an awesome kids zone (one I might understand in Ikea, not sure the justification in an RSL!).  Anyway we have lunch, which was OK, but not the best meal anyone has had.

We leave to go back to Dawn’s place, again the MUX won’t start and needs to be jump started, at least this can be done from the 2nd battery.  No option, a new battery is needed.  I looked up this morning and Battery World seems to be the best option.  Fortunately when I pull in the last customer leaves and I can quickly choose a battery which the only staff member offers to fit.

On our way with a nice new battery that actually starts the car.

We stop in at the beach on the way back, the tide is meant to be about half way back in, but the water is still sooo low.   There is no hope you could swim in there.   The kids end up in the playground which seems to have been recently upgraded a fair bit.

Finally back a Dawn’s and the kids go for an afternoon swim.

Given the lunch, we have a slap up BBQ dinner which is just about all we need.
