Day 13 – Forster

A relaxed start to the morning.  Breakfast and I lookup the tides to see it will be high tide at around 10:30am.  There is a netted swim area on the lake, not far from Mum’s.   At low tide it can be quite shallow, but is OK at high.   I thought he kids might like to jump in from the jetty, the last few time we’ve been here the water has been too low.   Liam literally Jumps at the chance, Caitlin is not sure if she’ll go in or not.

We drive over to the baths and expect a bun fight to find parking, but unbelievably we find one right near the place.   Kids out and ready, they seem keen on a swim now.  Back to the car to get masks and I realise I’m in a 15min parking zone,  ahh, that’s why it was so easy.  Luckily I find a proper spot only a 100 mtrs or so up the road.

Liam is super keen and runs around and jumps in faster than I can get videoing off the phone.   He’s really getting into it.  After seeing Liam go in a few times Caitlin has the urge to join in is too. It takes a few 1.2.3’s but finally she’s in.  Oddly there is nowhere near as many people here as we expected.  Liam starts off jumping from the jetty, but eventually builds up to jumping in from a platform on the handrail.   Between the hard landing and the salt water up the nose, he only try’s this a couple of time.

The water is pretty cool, so after about 45mins or so they are out.   Still, it got them out of the house and active for a bit.  I’ve got to say the sun has a bit of a kick to it and I’m glad we haven’t been in full sun for the whole day.

We have a relaxed afternoon hanging around at Mum’s.  While the area is busy, it nowhere near as busy at it normally is at this time of year.
