Day 91 – Seven Mile Beach (Geraldton) to Sandy Cape

What a place to wake up in. We are helped in the wake up with a couple of guys launching their fishing boat, but that was OK.

A 4×4 with Rooftop tent has turned up during the night, and shortly after we’re out and about, I see the local council ranger arrive and talk to them, there is no way they had a toilet, so they probably copped a reasonable fine. A few minutes later they’re gone. They’ll probably have a whinge on wikicamps about how hard they have been treated….you are not self-contained…you do not have a dunny….. do bears shit in the woods… If they are not staying in a self-contained camper they do!
Anyway..

The guy from the other caravan, suggested looking at Sandy Cape campground next. I had hoped to get a bit further on, to one of the next coastal towns, but they only have van parks, and I’ve got the bush camping bug at the moment. Looking at it, it is really the last good beach campground before we get to Perth, so we take the opportunity to have a look. It seems fine and we find a great spot, just over the dune from the beach.

We get the kids to come for a walk along the beach, and even thought the water is clean and pretty calm, Liam in particular is not having a bar of going to a swim. Liam has decided he’s “Allergic” to salt water doesn’t want to go near it. Taking his lead, Caitlin won’t either.

We take the walk and I go it to my waist. They eventually are playing in the shallows, and one thing leads to another and finally they are in the water…. Caitlin in a Dress. But they have a ball and eventually we have to drag them out. I think Liam’s saltwater allergy has been cured.

Dinner, Sunset, Short Movie, Stars. Repeat!
