Day 92 – Sandy Cape to Fremantle

We wake up to a beautiful morning. Nice and sunny, but not too hot, the wind is calm. After brekkie we suggest the kids go for another swim and to our surprise they jump at it. We all go in, this time they’re in swimmers. It’s pretty fresh, but not too bad once you’re in.

While there are some other nice towns on the way to Perth, we decide to go through and setup base in Fremantle and see the local sights from here. The kids like the idea of staying put for a few days. We’re booked into a van park for 4 nights.

So today will be about 250km.

We travel through a couple of the towns I’d though we might have stayed in last night, and I’m glad we stayed where we did. Again nice towns, but nothing special.

Justine takes over just after halfway, and as it turns out brings us through Perth. About 50kms, all on the freeway, it’s not too hard, except for the spaghetti junction that is right near the CBD. The last 10km are a little interesting as we go though some tight suburban streets.

Mid-afternoon we arrive at the caravan park and do the extra setup given we’ve got 4 nights. A quick trip to Bunnings to get a few things, including some Xmas lights. I’ve been looking for USB powered ones, but have given up hope, and gave in & got solar powered ones. Too late to set them up tonight, will do it tomorrow.
