What a place to wake up in. We are helped in the wake up with a couple of guys launching their fishing boat, but that was OK.

A really nice night. Overnight a campervan and 4×4 with rooftop tent have turned up.
Kalbarri NP has two parts, one north of Kalbarri and the other to the south, the Southside is more about the coastline. We leave the van behind and take the opportunity to backtrack a bit to see some of the sights. We visit Natural Bridge and Island Rock.

A windy night, when we wake we find the young couple in the tent next to us are having trouble. Their tent has these rubbish pegs, I’ve seen paperclips with more metal in them. That and the fact they are trying to hammer it into near rock. Speaking of hammer, they’re doing this with a saucepan, I’d lent them a hammer last night. In all the wind the tent is having trouble staying put. If we would have been staying I would have lent them some heavy duty pegs
Day 88 – Denham to Monkey Mia Return
Up early as we’re advised to leave around 7 to get there in time for the 8 am “Dolphin Experience”, why is everything now an “Experience”? (hint, so they can charge you more)
Anyway we’re there before 7:30 and have heaps of time. Like a lot of things at this time of year there are not a lot of people around which is nice.
We see a few dolphins circling as the talk gets under way. We’re told, that there may be about 100 people today, but that in peak there could be around 700. Tip, try not to come here in the peak.

We have a slow start as we plan to visit the Carnarvon Space Museum, but it doesn’t open till 10. There was a manned flight tracking station here for a few years during the Apollo missions and OTC dish. It mostly a museum about the moon landings, Liam loves this stuff….Who am I kidding, I love this stuff!

It was a windy night, probably windier than at Osprey Bay. Up and packup.
We drive across the road and park in the visitors centre, or visitors hut, I can’t quite tell. The water in the bay is sensational, and it is not far off high tide, although the tides here in the morning are pretty small, maybe half a metre.
Day 85 – Osprey Bay to Coral Bay
What a place to wake up in. Couldn’t have coffee and breakfast in a nicer spot.
After brekkie we drive about 10km further south and take a short walk up beside Yardie Creek and the start of Yardie Gorge. There are boat trips up the gorge, but they are later in the day.
Day 84 – Exmouth to Osprey Bay
Casual morning, we pack up and head off. It’s about 80odd kms, so it takes around an hour.
Day 83 – Exmouth Day 3
Up, breakfast and we head out to Cape Range NP. As per yesterday, the water is a wonderful colour, we stop at a few beaches as we head down the coast for a look.

We have a slow start. The van in parked in their “overflow” area so we’ll need to move it to a proper site when we checkin. Two days ago we “lost” the Anderson plug on the van, this connects the cars 12v system with the vans, so we can charge the van’s batteries while we’re driving and also is the connection I need to use the portable solar panels. Not a huge issue as we are on mains power in the van parks, but it needs to be fixed. I call a local Auto elec’s, happily he lets me know I can bring it over any time and they’ll sort it out.
