The day pretty much starts out as a carbon copy of yesterday. Up early, frozen water pipes, breakfast, and hit the road at 7. Only this time we’re heading south.

The alarms go off at 6am, Justine and I have both had a restless sleep, kinda always happens the first few days we’re away. With the diesel heater running all night, at least the van’s not freezing. Being first up, I go fill the jug for coffee and the water runs for a few secs and then stops… then I think about it, have the pipes frozen? I turn on the water pump from the tanks and that works, phew.

Early alarm, that’s going to happen a few times on this trip. We hit the road right on 7am. Given it’s the beginning of the school holidays it seemed prudent. Yesterday’s holiday traffic was bad.
Traffic was much better than I feared, and we stop for Breakie at Sutton Forrest then take the Canberra exit off the Hume.

2nd June 2023
Another boy’s weekend camping trip. Not far this time, just up at Burralow Creek near Kurrajong. So about 1 and a half hours away.
I pick up Liam up from school at the start of his afternoon break at 1:40, a maths lesson lost, but he can handle that. I’ve got the car packed and after he gets changed we’re on the road just before 2.

A quick week away up at Port Stephens. All in one spot, so not our normal touring holiday, much to Justine and the kid’s approval. I’ll make it a single post, as not every day was that eventful.

Bit of an unusual post, not really a holiday, just a couple of days off. The family is at home and it’s just me taking a break after working a few recent weekends.
I finished the pharmacy move here in Orange last night, so I don’t need to head back in there this morning. There is a dam south of here that I want to go to, so I’m in not in any super rush to get going this morning. Speaking of morning, like yesterday is damn fresh, with close to 0° overnight.
