I heard some noise early morning which seemed unusual. The place seem so safe, but then we’re behind a gate so there must be some risks. I have a quick look out the window but I can see anything. I hope that if it’s anything unusual John and Sarah would probably act. There is a laneway from the beach to the private road beside our place, so it was maybe someone walking up there.

A breathless, beautiful morning, the bay is almost smooth as glass.
Pacific Explorer arrives today, so we’ll keep around the house. Not long after they dock we notice all the lifeboats are in the water, they must be having a life boat drill.

Karl picks us up and we head north again to the Wahoo Bar, just before Port Havannah to join the boat. Even from the Wharf you can see the water is crystal clear.

We all drive into town …..that cargo ship is back…., Ken and Chris do their thing and we go to spend the Day on Iririki Island right in the middle of the harbour.
Somehow the kids con us into an icecream then we get on the small boat to take us across to Iririki. This is a flash resort and has prices to match. But to visit for the day is not too bad, about $20 each and we get that credit back for meals and drinks.

Today will be a relaxing day, it’s cruiseship day. Pacific Aria is visiting, so I’m happy to give town a miss.
In fact Ken and Chris have been to Vila a couple of times on Cruise Ships so it interesting for them to see it from the other side so to speak.

I didn’t know it at the time, but this morning my nemesis arrived. In the form of what I can only call a barely seaworthy cargo ship from the “Vanuatu Cargo” Co. This thing is a wreck, if a cop in Australia pulled it over it would have a yellow stick faster that you can say “rusted metal”

A really nice clear day. We’re on the harbour side of this point. We grab our reef shoes and take a walk around the point and onto the ocean side. We have a tag along, Phillipe the young son (6ish) of Sarah and John the house caretakers, comes with us. The kids all enjoy playing together.
