I’d like to make the most of our one night at Lake St Clair, so we want to be on the road by 9, alarm off at 7, and surprisingly we driving out at 8:30. It’s be drizzling all morning, during the packup, and as we leave.

Showing such restraint the kids don’t really get up till just before 8. I’ve got to say an easter egg hunt in a van is really not much of a challenge.
We discussed last night what we’d do today. I kinda wanted to do a drive down to Bruny Island, but it would be an hour each way to the Ferry, and probably close to an hour each way to drive down to the south of the island and back. That would be 4 hours for the kids in their seats.

Darren:
Today we go our separate ways. After getting ready, I drop Justine and the Kids in at the Salamanca Markets. I’d love* to go, but I need to go and find a new jockey wheel, parking in this part of town is a pain, and spending all that time on my foot would not be a good thing (*sarcasm)!!!

A bit of a dreary morning, and as we’re packing up it starts to drizzle, not too hard, but just a bit of a nuisance. As we’re really just going to drive to Hobart, and maybe a trip up Mt Wellington, weather is not too important, and if it had to be a bit crappy, today is a good day for it.

A slow start, as we don’t need to be over to Port Arthur till about 10:30, well that was the plan, until one of the ratbag kids from the next van, knocks on the door at 7:30 to see if they can play with Caitlin. Grrr

I’m up early again, so see the red horizon, only this time there is less cloud, so we see the sunrise not long later at 6:30.
Again, it’s an amazing morning. This is such a great location. Although overnight ever so often the waves sound like a small bomb going off. Other times they are soft and soothing.

Overnight, we’ve left the windows open a bit. I wake just before 6 and get a quick photo of the sunrise. With cloud cover on the horizon, we don’t actually see it rise till closer to 6:45.
Whilst it’s nice & warm in bed, if I had the heater remote I would have switched it on. Around 7, I get up, grab a coffee and head outside. Wow what a difference, outside in the sun with hardly any wind, it’s beautiful, really warm.

We get up just before 8. Bacon and eggs off the Barby, then a shower. So nice to be able to do that while camping up.
Liam and I go out for a walk. There’s a sandbar just in front of the campsite that was isolated when we drove in yesterday, but as the tide must be lower we can walk out to it now.

Well I’m not sure you could get two different nights. It was so warm overnight I though we might have somehow turned the heater on. When we wake up it’s close to 20°
Up just after 7, and while we’re in no rush, it does take us ages to get ready. We take the opportunity to fill the tanks up and we’re not out of the campground till after 10.

A fresh, but nice sunny morning. At 7° I might need to put the heater on for 30mins or so tomorrow if it’s this cool again.
A relaxed start. We get out the portable solar panel to give the power system a bit of a boost. I’d like to camp as much as we can before the van parks have to start at Port Arthur.
