We don’t need to travel quite so far today, we do a quick detour into Daly waters, seems like a strange (in a quirky way) place, and might have been an interesting place to stay. Given it’s only 10:30 a bit too early for a beer.

A peaceful night, and when we get up at 7, we notice that at least 4 or 5 campers have already left. This has happened a few times and we wonder how they can do it without us hearing them.

OK, so that didn’t work out as planned. 2:15am, and the noise of the rain and the awning thrashing about makes us jump into action. Out, and throw the chairs under the van and put the awning away. The lighting is a lot closer than we’re comfortable with, but we get it done. At least the wind is nowhere near as bad as the night on the Plenty.

Day 46 – Sydney to Ellery Big Hole (via Alice) 28/10/18
Up at 5:15 (Sydney Time). I drive to Sydney, drop the car off at home. Thankfully our good neighbour Greg gave me lift to the airport, and as it is Sunday morning the traffic and the airport are not super busy. So I arrive with plenty of time.

Day 43 – Alice
I spend the day flying to Sydney and then driving up to Newcastle.
Justine, Dawn and the kids visit the megafauna centre in the Centre of Alice. They reckon in the heat, Alice was practically deserted.
Day 42 – Redbank Gorge back to Alice
We start the drive back to Alice, It’s not far before we hit Glen Helen, and to our surprise there is Optus coverage, and some guys see us on the phone and ask us who were with, they’ve got Telstra and no coverage.
