We don’t have too much planned today. Just want to get the fridge replaced.
I go to the Darwin Aviation Museum, oddly no one else wants to join me. So I have an hour or two to myself. It was great, as I got to really look at the planes and read their stories in a way that I probably wouldn’t have been able to do, particularly with the kids. It’s a pretty good display, with a B52, they are huge, it’s just a pity you can’t actually go inside it.
About halfway through I get a text from Justine, she’s just received a call from the fridge mob, they can’t do this install today. It’s been rescheduled to Thursday morning……oh. F.F.S. We try to argue, but it doesn’t really help. They have us over a barrel, or is that a fridge? I’m concerned if we argue too much we may just find our install postponed to Friday or worse “due to other emergencies”. I’m figuring when they booked it in they forgot today was Melbourne cup and the guys had planned to go out on the turps this afternoon. This really mucks our plans around.
After lunch we go to one of the water parks, yes one of them, there are a few. This one has three huge waterslides and they are all free. I guess you need something when it is often 40° outside, but you can’t swim in the ocean because things want to eat or sting you. The pool is open all day, but the waterslide opens at 2 so we arrive at about 1:30. At around 2 they open the slides, but we can see some pretty serious dark clouds around. It’s hard to tell if they will skirt around us….. or as it turns out directly hit us. They close the pools and the lifeguards indicate they need to wait 30min after the storm passes. We move on, we may do another one tomorrow.
Storm brewing Not Happy!
I would have come to the museum with you!!……B52 looks huge. Also looks like a F 111…….beautiful aircraft.. Px
I can always count on you to support me Paul! Actually the F-111 really surprised me, I’ve seen them before, but I had forgotten just how big they are. They are a beautiful looking plane.
……. Just googled it…… RAAF just retired the fleet of F-111’s in 2010…..amazing.
