A peaceful night, and when we get up at 7, we notice that at least 4 or 5 campers have already left. This has happened a few times and we wonder how they can do it without us hearing them.
We stock up with a bag of ice and head the 10km north to the marbles. It’s about 9:30 when we get there and it is hot already. We do the full lookout walk, but that is only about 30mins.
They are interesting, but I can’t locate the angle that they’ve taken the signature photo from. So it looks less like the devils marbles and more like a lot of very impressive large boulders.
Yesterday and today are really just about driving about 450km each day. There are a lot of K’s to travel and there is not a lot around.
It feels this close too
A quick stop in Tennent Creek for some basic supplies.
We pull in to the Dunamarra roadhouse as they have a pool and power, given we don’t have a fridge we need all the help we can get. Unlike the Devil’s Marble Hotel, this is a pretty basic roadhouse, although the caravan park is in better condition with grass and some nice shady trees
Oddly enough we have some guests in the park with us. Two water buffalo, a mother and baby are residence at the park. Not something you see every day.
The dog keeping them under control!
